Perilous Gateways
Portals in Ruins
By Robert Wiese
Ruins dot the surface, and the deep parts, of Faerûn like seeds thrown by a farmer into a field. They are everywhere, and they draw adventurers like magnets draw iron. Ruins are dark, dangerous, and unpredictable. This month, look into four ruins that contain portals to places far away. Built centuries or millennia ago, and just recently discovered, these portals are attracting attention and causing disruptions in the peaceful day-to-day routines of the locals. They are the perfect place to find adventure.
Visit these portals and their far-flung destinations, and find adventure:
- 2/06 The Assam Portal
- 2/13 The Farsea Marsh Portal
- 2/20 The Longsaddle Portal
- 2/27 The Isle of Prespur Portal
About the Author
Robert Wiese's love of gaming started in the Boy Scouts, where you'd think there was enough to do to keep one from playing roleplaying games. Through college he has played in some great home campaigns, and he discovered the RPGA Network at a small game day in 1991. He worked for RPGA Network for six and a half years, filling almost every job duty that exists on the staff at one time or another. Now honorably retired from service as the RPGA Operations Manager, he lives in Nevada and writes gaming goodies from time to time. He also gardens a lot and devotes as much time as possible to his beloved fiancée.
