Furthermore, whenever a turn result is successful, the number of hit dice affected is lessened by 1d4. Bloody Bones are immune to rebuke, as they can only be controlled by a master variety.

Telepathy (Su): The master communicates via telepathy to issue his commands, with a 20 mile radius range.

Smite Good (Su): Once per day the creature can make a normal attack to deal additional damage equal to its HD total (+5 for master) against a good foe.

Immunities: As skeletal monsters, bloody bones suffer ½ damage from piercing and edged attacks.

Bloody bones are summoned from the Nine Hells by evil clerics to aid in the protection of evil shrines from the depredations of good clerics. The summoning results in the appearance of a master and from one to six minions. The master has the ability to draw all [free-willed] undead within a 20 mile radius to its service. Once installed in an evil area, the bloody bones exert influence an any undead therein (in the form of an unhallow spell).

Bloody bones appear as human skeletons clad in fine textured, heavy robes of a black, charcoal grey or dark brown color. The bones are a deep red from the blood that flows through them. The eye sockets are jet black, but bloody bones are quite capable of sight.
